MADRID (AP) -Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo says opposing fans jeer him out of envy because of his looks, his money and his talent.
Ronaldo was the favorite target of Dinamo Zagreb's fans during Madrid's 1-0 win in its Champions League opener on Wednesday.
The Portugal forward says "I think I am whistled at because I am handsome, rich and a great player and people are jealous of me."
Ronaldo also criticized the referee for not booking Dinamo's Jerko Leko when his tackle left the Madrid player with a bloody ankle.
He says "I don't understand anything. Some players can't be touched while I receive a beating."
