What Are You Waiting For? It's Time You Thought About Some ...

Your 10 year high school reunion happened over the past weekend. You had almost decided not to go, but your spouse -keen to meet some of the people about whom you and your best friend so often talk- cajoled you into attending. And you likewise convinced your best friend to make an appearance. While you were glad to have gone, on your way home, you felt a slight twinge of regret.

So many of the folks who made up your extended circle of friends went on to college and university and many, though not all of them, now had the kinds of jobs and careers to which you yourself cannot aspire.

Your old wrestling coach was there -he also happened to be your favorite science teacher- and after almost twenty-nine years he is set to retire in at the end of next month. You and he had a long chat about careers and choices. When you admitted to him that you now regretted not going to college or university, he asked you, straight out, what was stopping you now?

Financial aid is certainly not restricted to young people embarking on their post-secondary careers right out of high school. If you are facing financial barriers that are keeping you from pursuing a degree, there are various programs in place to help you get over those barriers.
